Devan Seabaugh was elected to serve the 34th district in the Georgia State House in 2021 where he serves on the Appropriations, Transportation, Public Health, Code Revision, and Creative Arts and Entertainment Committees. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Appropriations Health Sub Committee and Vice Chairman of the Industry and Labor Committee. He was also elected by his colleagues to serve as Vice Chairman of the Cobb County Legislative Delegation.
Devan started a career in healthcare as a Paramedic working for 10 years as street medic including five years for Grady EMS. Devan was there for patients in their toughest hour and many lived to see another day because he responded when they needed him most.
As a business executive with MetroAtlanta Ambulance, he has helped grow a startup company from 10 employees to more than 1,400 professionals using common sense and conservative principles.
With his business experience, Devan is uniquely prepared to continue leading efforts to combat the historic inflation impacting all of our families and eliminate burdensome regulations that strangle small business to keep our economy growing.
Seabaugh has been a champion in the fight against the left’s radical agenda. He is committed to continuing the fight to preserve our values, our freedom, law and order, and protect the conservative policies that have made Georgia the #1 state for doing business.
His background in healthcare and public safety gives him a unique perspective on how to keep our communities safe. He will never allow the “Defunding of the Police” and will always defend our Second Amendment rights. He will lead the way on ensuring the brave men and women who maintain public health, safety and law and order have the resources they need to protect and serve.
Seabaugh supports maintaining full funding of Georgia’s public schools and protecting the HOPE Scholarship and has fought for incentives and other polices that support Cobb County's economic engines such as Cobb International Airport, Lockheed Martin, WellStar Kennestone Regional Hospital and the many small businesses in the district.
As a state representative, Seabaugh has advocated for better access to health care and support for the non-profit safety nets serving our most vulnerable citizens.
Seabaugh is active with the Marietta Kiwanis Club, Leadership Cobb Alumni Association, the Cobb Opioid Addiction Task Force, the Kennestone Regional Hospital Board, the Cobb Chamber, the Cobb Safety Village Foundation, Rotary Club, the Kennesaw Business Association, Earl Smith Strand Theater, SafeKids, North Georgia State Fair Association and the National Rifle Association.
Seabaugh has been recognized for his service and leadership to the community receiving awards including Marietta Citizen of the Year, the Kiwanis International George F. Hixson Award and the Rotary International Paul Harris Society Fellow. Seabaugh conceived and led the ‘Field of Flags’ project at Kennesaw National Battlefield Park to commemorate and honor the victims of the attack on our country on September 11, 2001, which has become a national tribute to the men and women that where tragically lost.
Seabaugh is a recognized leader with clear vision and a cooperative spirit. He’s a familiar face in the 34th District, and a proud family man with five children whom all attended Kennesaw Mountain High School. He and his wife Beth have been married 32 years and are members of First United Methodist Church in Marietta.
